I am an accounting student at the University of Southern New Hampshire. While pursuing my degree, I am actively seeking an internship to gain practical experience in a real work environment. However, my progress so far has not been smooth.

My ideal internship position needs to be supervised by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), so that I can gradually accumulate the work hours required to apply for a CPA license. I currently reside in Phoenix, AZ. Previously, I consulted my school about internship matters, but the school did not provide any substantial assistance.

Therefore, I would like to ask for your advice: do you have any suggestions, potential opportunities, or the best ways to find an internship? I would greatly appreciate any form of help.

Specifically, I face the following challenges:

  • The school's career services have not provided effective support;
  • I hope the internship can be conducted under the supervision of a CPA to meet the state licensing work hour requirements;
  • My location is in Phoenix, but I am open to remote or flexible arrangements (if possible).

I have tried searching through online job platforms, but most positions require experience or imminent graduation. I have also contacted local accounting firms, but have not yet received responses. If you have similar experiences or success stories, I kindly ask you to share them.
