Exploring the Best Recruitment Channels for Certified Public Accountants
An anonymous user posted for help due to difficulty in finding a certified public accountant (CPA) to assist the financial controller, a position requiring Big Four audit experience. The user stated that traditional job boards and headhunters have been ineffective and hoped to learn about more efficient recruitment channels.
In the process of assisting the CFO in finding suitable candidates, I encountered considerable challenges. I stumbled upon this platform by chance and decided to post here for help. Currently, we urgently need a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with audit experience from the Big Four accounting firms. May I ask, which channels are most effective for posting job openings? Traditional job boards and headhunting services have not yielded ideal results.
We are well aware that CPAs with Big Four backgrounds often possess solid professional skills and extensive project experience, but such talent is typically scarce and may already be closely watched by existing employers or headhunters. Therefore, we need to explore more targeted recruitment channels.
Below are some directions that may be worth trying, for peers' reference:
- Professional Accounting Forums and Communities: Such as China Accounting Vision Forum, Zhihu accounting topics, and CPA groups on LinkedIn. These gather active accounting professionals and may hide potential candidates.
- Alumni Networks and Industry Associations: Through Big Four alumni associations, local chapters of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA), or related business school alumni networks, you can reach more senior talent.
- Targeted Headhunting and Talent Pools: Collaborate with professional headhunters focused on the finance field, or use senior talent pools on platforms such as Liepin or Zhaopin, but be sure to define clear screening criteria.
- Internal Referrals and Employee Incentives: Encourage current employees to make referrals, especially colleagues who previously worked at the Big Four, as they often bring high-quality connections.
- Industry Conferences and Offline Events: Attend financial summits, seminars, or public events hosted by the Big Four to directly connect with potential candidates.
Additionally, in the job description, clearly emphasize the specific requirement of "Big Four audit experience" and highlight the attractiveness of the position, such as career development prospects, team culture, or compensation and benefits, to enhance competitiveness.
If you have successful experiences or suggestions, feel free to share them in the comments. We look forward to finding that partner who can work side by side with our CFO.
Sincerely,
Anonymous
